The Panton chair – a classic in furniture design
The Scandinavian design is a fascinating topic for me and again and again I can write articles about it. Today is about a classic among the Designer chairs – the Panton chair. This exists since the end of the 50s of the 20.
Century and is still modern and trendy. What do you think? Personally, I am completely charmed by it.
The Danish designer Verner Panton and his chair
The history of the designer chair in a nutshell:
♦ In 1955, his predecessor was born – an S-shaped plywood chair
♦ At the end of the fifties, the chair was made of plastic for the first time
♦ It was not until 1967 that series production of the Panton chair made of plastic began
♦ over 4 years (1979-1983) the chair was not manufactured
♦ Today the Panton chair is available in 4 variants and made of different plastic materials
