How to set a romantic table for Valentine’s Day meal

Hi Guys! If you think that preparing some romantic food for some men is difficult, how about a romantic table? Modern Home Decor will teach you how to set up a romantic table for Valentine’s Day. No matter what romantic food you have created for your Valentine’s Day, you know that you are valued for your efforts as much as for the food. This will be an unforgettable night.

With your menu squared, there are still some issues to solve. It’s time to complete the mood: choose your favorite romantic songs, set up a romantic table and maybe even a romantic movie that you can “see” together after the Valentine’s Day meal. Their attention to romantic details with the finishing touches will serve to complement and complete the romantic Valentine’s Day meal you planned and the romantic dessert.

The music

If you have a song that you consider “your song,” Valentine’s Day is a great day to play it. With romantic songs, there is a fine line to go here. You want the music to be a romantic detail and to create an intimate mood, but you do not want to go beyond the line into exaggerated Cornball joy or something that distracts from eating and momentum.

Here are a few of Modern Home Decor’s favorite all time romantic songs that I think you might enjoy:

Michael Buble – Close your eyes
Marvin Gaye – Let’s move on
Frank Sinatra – greatest love songs
Sade – lovers rock

The table

It is my experience that women think that we are unable to set a table, and not without reason. So, on this Valentine’s Day dinner, I will share with you how to set a romantic table.

1 – Especially for Valentine’s Day, you want to be able to look at each other and sit during dinner. Do not set the locations at opposite ends of a long table. This is a romantic detail.

2 – When placing candles or flowers on the table, do not use scented candles or buy flowers that have a scent. The perfume can disturb your enjoyment of the meal.

3 – If you do not have cloth napkins, now is the time to get something. Red or white would be appropriate. Cloth napkins are easily found in any store that sells household goods.

Lay the table

If you have enough silverware, go ahead and go all out. If you do not have enough, do not panic, and do not run out to buy extra forks and knives. Use what you have and arrange it so that it makes sense for the food you serve. Your Valentine will not be upset if you have to use the same fork for their fish course and their meat course.

There are many, many possibilities to set the table and to have an unforgettable night. I’ll give you a pretty straightforward way to set the table.

The rule seems to be that you place the utensils for the first courses farthest from the plate and the utensils for the later passages closer to the plate. You should place the utensils so that you use them from the outside of the setting to the inside of the setting. So, from left to right, you’ll need a salad fork, followed by two dinner forks. These will be for the salad, the fish and the meat course. Then put the plate on the table. On the right side of the plate, place a dinner fork with the blade towards the plate, another knife and a soup spoon. These will be for the salad, the fish / meat course and the soup course.

If you want to serve bread and place it on a separate plate, place it over the forks on the left side of the plate. Place the water and / or wine glasses to the right of the plate above the knives and the spoon. The water glass should be closest to the plate with the adjacent wine glass. Finally, fold the napkin and place it either in the water glass or on the plate. For dessert bring all the necessary utensils on the table. You do not have to predetermine for a romantic dessert. Maybe you do not need anything for the romantic dessert …

And that’s really all that goes with it. I hope you now know how to set up a romantic table for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy your memorable night and say thank you to Modern Home Decor!
